[STEPBible TIPNR] 삿 10:5에서만 언급된 길르앗의 한 위치로, 카몬(קָמוֹן)이라고만 불린다. [더오그래픽] 줄기가 가득한 곳, 야일이 장사된 곳(삿 10:5)이다. 이는 일반적으로 요단강 동쪽에 있는 길르앗의 도시로 여겨져 왔다. 그러나 아마도 갈멜의 욕느암(수 12:22; 왕상 4:12)인 갈멜 남쪽 경사지에 있는 현대의 텔엘카이문(Tell-el-Kaimun)일 것이다. 왜냐하면 야일이 사사가 된 후 요단강 서쪽에 사는 것이 더 편리할 수 있었을 뿐만 아니라, 그가 살던 곳에 장사되었을 가능성이 전혀 없지 않기 때문이다.

[STEPBible TIPNR] A location in Gilead only mentioned at Jdg.10.5) only referred to as Kamon (קָמוֹן). [Theographic] Full of stalks, a place (Judg. 10:5) where Jair was buried. It has usually been supposed to have been a city of Gilead, on the east of Jordan. It is probably, however, the modern Tell-el-Kaimun, on the southern slopes of Carmel, the Jokneam of Carmel (Josh. 12:22; 1 Kings 4:12), since it is not at all unlikely that after he became judge, Jair might find it more convenient to live on the west side of Jordan; and that he was buried where he had lived.
