[OpenBible.info] 물; 하퍼에서 유래; 현재 시드라 [STEPBible TIPNR] 행 27:17에서만 언급된 장소로 시르티스(σύρτις)라고만 지칭된다. [더오그래픽] 그리스어 시르티스의 번역인 행 27:17에서만 발견된다. 아프리카 북해안에는 항해자들에게 위험한 두 지역이 있었는데, 이를 대시르티스와 소시르티스라고 불렀다. 여기서는 아마도 전자를 의미할 것이다. 이는 트리폴리와 바르카 사이, 그리고 키레네 근처에 위치한다. 소시르티스는 더 서쪽에 위치해 있었다.

[Theographic] Found only in Acts 27:17, the rendering of the Greek Syrtis. On the north coast of Africa were two localities dangerous to sailors, called the Greater and Lesser Syrtis. The former of these is probably here meant. It lies between Tripoli and Barca, and near Cyrene. The Lesser Syrtis lay farther to the west.
