[Easton] The broken or divided place, a district in the Arabah or Jordan valley, on the east of the river (2 Sam. 2:29). It was probably the designation of the region in general, which is broken and intersected by ravines. [Smith] more accurately the Bithron (a craggy gorge or ravine), a place, doubtless a district, in the Jordan valley on the east side of the river. (2 Samuel 2:29) [STEPBible TIPNR] A location only mentioned at 2Sa.2.29) only referred to as Bithron (בִּתְרוֹן).
