울라의 아들들 가운데 한 사람으로, 아셀 지파 사람이다(대상 7:39).
스룹바벨과 함께 돌아온 아라 자손의 수는 에스라 2:5에서는 775명이며, 느헤미야 7:10에서는 652명이다. 시대는 주전 536년이다. 그의 후손 가운데 한 사람인 스가냐는 암몬 사람 도비야의 장인이었다(느 6:18).

The sons of Arah returned with Zerubbabel in number 775 according to (Ezra 2:5) but 652 according to (Nehemiah 7:10) (B.C. 536.) One of his descendants, Shechaniah, was the father-in-law of Tobiah the Ammonite. (Nehemiah 6:18)
