[네이브] –미그마시(MICHMASH) 참조 [더오그래픽] 숨겨진 것, 벧엘 동쪽과 미그론 남쪽에 있으며 예루살렘으로 가는 길 위에 있는 베냐민의 성읍(스 2:27)(사 10:28). 이곳은 북쪽에서 침입하는 군대의 행군 경로 위에 있으며, 가파르고 절벽 같은 와디 에스수웨니트(“작은 가시나무 계곡” 또는 “아카시아나무 계곡”)의 북쪽에 위치하며, 현재는 무크마스라는 이름을 가진다. 이 와디는 “미그마시의 길목”(삼상 13:23)이라고 불린다. 무크마스의 정면, 계곡의 반대편에는 게바의 현대적 대표지가 있으며, 그 뒤로는 라마와 기브아가 있다. 이곳은 사울의 군대와 블레셋 사람들 사이에 치러진 큰 전투의 현장이었으며, 블레셋 사람들은 완전히 패배하여 블레셋 땅으로 약 16마일 동안 아얄론 계곡까지 추격당했다. “미그마시에서 확보된 베냐민의 자유는 오랜 투쟁을 통해 모든 친족 지파들의 자유로 이어졌다.” 베냐민과 그 왕의 권세는 이제 꾸준히 증가했다. 이스라엘 안에서 새로운 영과 새로운 소망이 이제 일하고 있었다.

[Nave] –See MICHMASH [Theographic] Something hidden, a town of Benjamin (Ezra 2:27), east of Bethel and south of Migron, on the road to Jerusalem (Isa. 10:28). It lay on the line of march of an invading army from the north, on the north side of the steep and precipitous Wady es-Suweinit (“valley of the little thorn-tree” or “the acacia”), and now bears the name of Mukhmas. This wady is called “the passage of Michmash” (1 Sam. 13:23). Immediately facing Mukhmas, on the opposite side of the ravine, is the modern representative of Geba, and behind this again are Ramah and Gibeah. This was the scene of a great battle fought between the army of Saul and the Philistines, who were utterly routed and pursued for some 16 miles towards Philistia as far as the valley of Aijalon. “The freedom of Benjamin secured at Michmash led through long years of conflict to the freedom of all its kindred tribes.” The power of Benjamin and its king now steadily increased. A new spirit and a new hope were now at work in Israel.
